With AISH’s Standards for the International School Head as a foundation, you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of the position and develop key skills needed for success. Through curated resources, case studies, meaningful discussions, and authentic examples, you’ll engage in personalized coaching in a supportive environment—leaving with practical next steps and greater clarity about your leadership path.

 

A team of experienced International School Heads will provide workshops on leadership topics such as transition, school partnerships, governance, mission-driven school finance, building highly effective teams, HOS well-being, as well as other content related to the AISH Standards for the International School Head. The focus of the Institute is for new and aspiring international school leaders to build networks and learn together.

 

Topics we’ll explore include:

  • What are the most important areas to develop—and how can I gain experience in them?
  • How is the headship different from the principalship?
  • What does the headship recruitment process look like, and what strategies are most effective?
  • What are the biggest mistakes new Heads make, and how can I prevent them?
  • How can I lead with a clear mission for learning across every aspect of the school?

The Institute will take place from July 6 to 9 at Pickering College in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada.  This picturesque location provides the perfect setting to reflect, connect, and grow as a leader.

Located just north of Toronto and served by Toronto Pearson International Airport, Newmarket offers a wealth of small-town charm. Participants will stay at the charming Postmark Hotel, located on Newmarket’s historic Main Street—an area renowned for its preserved heritage buildings, quaint restaurants, and unique local shops.

Registration Fee:

  • AISH Members - $1750
  • Non-Members - $1950

Member's Spouse or Guest - $800

The fee includes 2.5 days of professional learning; 3 nights accomodation at the Postmark Hotel in Newmarket, Ontario; breakfast and lunch each day; and  dinner on two evenings.
